If the player is dealt an 8 or 9, he automatically wins unless the banker also has an 8 or 9. If he has another point total, the dealer may or may not deal a third card depending on the total. There are particular rules for the player and banker to have the third card.
A player receives the third card if the total of the first 2 cards is less than or equal to five.
